A family of 4 with two young children needed their semi-detached home to work harder for them.
The front porch opened straight in to their lounge, so they needed a hallway to separate their sitting room from the thoroughfare.
A previous extension meant that the family had a good size kitchen, but the dining space alongside it was dark and separated from the rest of the home. There was nowhere for the children to play and store their toys.
With the removal of walls between the dining room and kitchen, a faux wall in the lounge and a glass extension added to the back of the house, natural light is able to flood through the home. The now open-plan space required zoning in to functions for all the family to enjoy, work and entertain.
